We have a very extensive knowledge of all things iPhone. We feel that we should do our very best to share some of this knowledge, as well as a few tips and tricks. Sometimes this information is given away on our Blog, but we also thought that the more frequently requested items could have their own dedicated page or a link to a specific blog post.
There have been four different types of iPhones, only three were officially released in Australia.
iPhone 2G (EDGE)
- Never officially released in Australia
- Does not have 3G data, uses EDGE and GPRS (very slow)
- Does not have an internal GPS
- Usually Locked to At&t so always needs to be JailBroken
- LCD and Digitiser Fused Together makes repairs expensive
- Flat Aluminium (silver) Back
iPhone 3G
- The first iPhone to be Officially Released in Australia
- Released 11th July, 2008
- Rounded Plastic Back.
- Available in Black & White
- LCD and Digitiser are not fused together
- Does not Support Video Recording
iPhone 3Gs
- Released June 19, 2009
- Rounded Plastic Back.
- Available in Black & White
- LCD and Digitiser are not fused together
- Supports Video Recording
iPhone 4 (4th Generation)
- Released 30 July, 2010
- Only Black (rumours say that white will be released towards the end of 2010)
- Square Shaped with Glass Front & Back with Aluminium Frame
- Front Facing Camera & LED Flash
- High Resolution Screen
